Rays in the Rain

For Sunday, the forecast promised dry conditions and low winds, so I set myself on doing a bit of ray fishing. As it turned out it was horrid weather. A nasty head wind driving savage rain squalls. But I persevered and picked up a couple of lovely spotted rays and a miniature black bream to boot. I had a fair few doggies too, but who wants to see a photo of them? I think had the fishing been lousy, I'd have given up earlier, but bites kept coming. Also, if you're worried about wet, kayaking ain't the sport for you!

Looks like great fun.

I've only been sea fishing a handful of times, never on a kayak mind but I always forget how much I enjoy it.

With fishing you can't see if there are fish in the swim. The great thing about pigeon shooting is that you can see very quickly if there are any pigeons in the "swim", if not pack up and go home. I've done that a lot lately.

I admire your adventurous spirit sea fishing in your kayak. Mind you, catching a conger may present a bit of a challenge.

Great sport sea fishing with the anticipation of not knowing what's going to take the bait next. Takes me back to my younger days when every weekend, weather permitting, was spent boat fishing. Happy days.

Slime everywhere. They're a pig from a kayak. I'll make every effort to T-bar them off in the water because otherwise it's just a never ending nightmare!
