the last engineer
you'll find the main reason Henry is simple, people forget to take an auto saftey off when shooting. there are obvious die-hards who say the gun must have the "safety on at all times" regardless of being m/t or charged. safetys are not fail safe as we all know, a worn sear will let go in a hurry regardless of the "safety" most newcomers to target, who own a field gun with auto safety, soon become niggled with the fact they were caught out a few times, this in the heat of the moment. im sure most of us have at least once, yarded on a trigger shoe whilst trying to bring down that plump pheasant, cursing the manufacturer for the safety. my own opinion is simple, an empty gun is safe, a broken gun is safe, a loaded gun is as safe as the guy holding it. proceed with caution and have it checked out properly when its done, its not a hard job, just remember you are altering the manufacturers specs and warranty. Gordon R
My friend shoots clays and has forgotten to take off the safety a couple of times. I don't see the point of safety on a clay gun.
