rovercoupe
I while ago I watched a video on a muzzle loader buying built from scratch in a cabin in the woods all by hand even with a big wooden rifling machine and given all the rubbish on the tv I really want to watch it again but cannot find it. the only other thing I can remember about it was when he proofed it he took it out into the woods and had it on a bit of wood and tied a bit of string round the trigger and fired it. The video was at least half a hour long. anybody seen it and can help?

Feltwad
Depending on what type of project there are plenty of videos on American web pages . the only trouble is that they are for a flintlock long rifle and if you want a one for a muzzle loading shotgun then there are only a few but have their flint lock long rifle look . My advice if you want to build a muzzle loading shotgun then buy an original scrap English one strip it down and work from these dimensions forget about any American videos Feltwad
rovercoupe
It was rifled and single barrel so not a shotgun build, it’s too cold to be building anything so it’s just for entrainment really. The history channel video looks good but it’s not the right one.

DUNKS
Thanks for that. Totally unbelievable. The skills are amazing. I am sure our own gunsmiths in Birmingham were working in a similar manner.

Should be required viewing for all newcomers to the sport as part of their apprenticeship.
