Used a SBS for 40+ years, always shunned O/U's as the few times I used them I found them clunky & heavy.

Whilst looking for a gun for my daughter recently, I came across a Simson Suhl O/U ejector (these were made in the old GDR on the same production lines as Kreighoff & Merkels). It's in lovely condition and I ended up nicking it for £100!!

Took it clay shooting and could not believe what a great shot I'd suddenly become!

Last week our shoot had a simulated driven day (anyone tried this? Its fantastic, the most fun anyone (my age) could ever have, clothes on or off!!) and I shot fantastically (for me), couldn't believe it.

So my vote would have to be split evenly between my s/l sbs & the Simson o/u. If you were to ask me again at the end of this season, welllll..............................

I love the under-over for game shooting and woodies gives the quarry a bit of a sporting chance and i use the semi for vermin shooting and ducks where the extra shell or 3 B) comes in handy, both have there uses.

With mark on the SBS for the game, eaiser to carry and "feels" safer in company. Have the Auto for vermin foxing and wildfowling, and an o/u for clays, but still like the look of a tradional english straight stock sbs.
