Dave-G
My brother and I have heavily overshot my bunny patches - and some of my arable permish's have sown whatever. Ground is a fine tilth with bean stalk remains scattered over it, and it's the first time I have seen slug pellets used. Pigeons and crows have been busy so while the field is bare I'm going to snipe a few feathered pests. I was out early this morning rabbiting - then decided to have a hide building session and pruned the lower branches of some trees to shoot through from the hide. My sleep pattern is all ****** up at the moment so I was up early this afternoon after two hours sleep. I placed 100~150~200 yard markers out then lurked in the hide for an hour or so at about 4pm. Not one bird came near but I could hear the odd crow squawk. So I'm all set to go at daybreak, but do pigeon go to roost well before dusk or were they perhaps just having a feast elsewhere? Browning GTS
Yes Pigeons seem to stop flying when it is still quite light where as crovids will fly when it is almost dark.
Cranfield
At this time of year I wouldn't expect pigeons to go to roost before 4 pm, so I think they were feeding elsewhere.

Sundodger
I try and get into the woods about 15:00hrs and wait for them to come in, You will get one or two early birds but most tent to come in around 16;00hrs and the fun starts then. Paul in North Lincs.
we find that the bluies come into roost a good while before dust...sometimes as early as 2.30 - 3.00...they seem to like to flit about in the woods for a while......and spinney hop for a while before they get cabined up
