30-6
I have noticed several times ( not regular ),when using genuine talpex mole trap, that when checking them after going off, the trap empty but the mole just inside the tunnel. I thought I might be slightly squeezing the handles when pulling it out, and the mole getting left behind, so have been careful of not doing that. The mole shows no sign of being caught, no marks anywhere on it. Any thoughts anyone ?

I've noticed this quite a few times over the years when using scissor traps , and if ever a trap has been set off , but hasn't caught a mole , I always check the run . I just put it down to the mole being trapped , but managing to wriggle free . Once it's free , it just takes a breather , but dies from injuries received from the trap. 30-6
That makes sense, perhaps if a small stone or similar stops the jaws having full effect.
