Electric tester recommendation please.

Assuming it’s std 12.5 mill plasterboard. Set the drill depth to about 11mm, your golden as your can literally turn the bit by hand until you pierce the inner paper of the board ( add on a few mill if the wall is skimmed. 
Then you will be in the void, unless you have hit the stud which would gain you better fixing anyways. 
 

I’m assuming that you also have the appropriate plasterboard fixings and not rawl plugs?

They will most certainly exchange it if you have the original packaging- our local branch is excellent for that, but maybe it’s because I hold a Plumbfix account?

Thanks for the offer but I don't like borrowing stuff. I swapped the "killer" for this one. Thanks for the advice 👍
