Aled_cky
its mostly old laws.. but their saying them as they have been forgotten.. like not alllowed to shoot on land you do not have permission to. Aled
Hammergun
you can use an air rifle unaccompanined on private land with permission from the age of 14, but you cannot carry in a public place until 17. A pellet crossing a boundary where permission is not granted is classed as a more serious offence now.
red_stag88
So, infact, they have only changed the law about the carring of an air rifle in public places, which they did some months ago.
sharp_shooter
Im confused I am 14 and can I still shoot alone legally?? Help me please
beardy_bradderz
Yes you can because of an amendment to the bill which was puched through by BASC, which allows people aged over 14 but under 17 to continue to shoot unsupervised. Sadly, you can no longer own an airgun until you are 17 (ie. be in possession of it when not shooting) and you can no longer carry any airgun in a public place until you are 17. Everything else has stayed the same, except it is now a specific offence for someone under 17 to fire a pellet beyond the boundary of the property they are shooting on (unless you have permission to shoot there as well and it isn't a public road.etc) Brad

Pigeon_decoyer
Im 15 mate, Its really annoying that I cant travel through a public pace with my air-rifle because I cant get to the land I have permission on without annoying my mum or dad! Can I shoot my air-rifle on private land that I have permission on without an adult? PD
beardy_bradderz
YES YOU CAN lol. Thank god I'm 17 and have escaped all this madness! Brad
triggerhappy
I thought the laws stated a 14 year old can carry a cased rifle around the place as long as he/she is accompanied by an adult, but not a cased pistol, and only adults can carry a cased pistol around the place.
