And just hit the the bit that sticks out with your thump ? the springs are part of the peg We used to make guns like yours, then take the springs out of other clothes pegs and slide a rubber band through the L shaped bit on the spring, hook the band on the end of the gun and the spring fits nicely in the clothes pegs under tension.
