Alpex Scope questions

So, my treat as I haven't been to a pub for coming up to about 3years has arrived, in the shape of a new Alpex.

I haven't downloaded the user manual yet from the QR code thingy, but have some questions about the batteries.

I assume that it has an internal battery that you charge via the c cable and the cr123a battery is just a backup. My question is do you keep this battery in the scope all the time or only if internal battery runs out, and can you charge device while this battery is in the scope ?

Please feel free to add any helpful tips or tricks you have found which I could use.

Cheers in advance.

The small internal battery is not rechargeable, but the IR battery is. It is easy to see why you may get mistaken, as the supplied charger is adjustable. It does looks as if you should be able to recharge both, but that is not the case. I`ve not had chance to look into how it works myself yet, but I just recharged the internal battery & put the non rechargeable battery in as back up.

Just had an email back from Hikmicro and they said when charging the internal batteries via the c lead, the cr123a backup non rechargeable battery should be removed.

Yes the cr123 batteries are for the back up and the charger is for the ir light i haven't yet had to use the cr123 as a backup but i carry them in my pocket with the extra 18650 batteries for the ir light  if you need any help give us a shout 👍
