Getting the hang of this now. I have always avoided trying to post pictures. I feel a new digital camera coming on.

ps here are a few more.

The two bunnies in the centre picture were shot at some distance with the HMR, I am sure that those shots will remain in my minds eye for many a year. Even McF was impressed with the shooting, and thats saying something!!

I dont know what flektarn is?

and I dont care what I look like, and neither do the bunnies. In my book there are no degrees of dead, just dead!

We have been going to the same place for many years. We always look forward to going and make plans many months in advance. This year we started our de brief and planning meeting whilst we qued to get over the Forth road bridge. Never again, in future we intend to travel mid week and avoid work on the bridge at weekends.

They are working on the bridge at weekends ATM, plan to get there before 07-00 or after 19-00 for easy flowing traffic. You could have called in for a cuppa as you went past me

I don't know where your shoot is, but would it be possible to go over the Kincardine bridge ?

when I go up that neck of the woods, I go to just a couple of miles outside Dunfermline, I always use the Kincardine bridge.

If you're coming from the west side of the country, e.g.M6, then It might be an option for you.

By the way , it looks like you had a brilliant time. Great pictures

The Kincardine bridge is an option. However due the works on the Forth bridge the Kincardine gets battered as well. The illuminated signs were advising a similar time to cross at Kincardine, so we decided to just grin and bear it.

It was anoying to note that as we passed over the bridge absolutley nothing was happening, yet traffic was queing foe miles.

When we go there it is like the 31st. Punjahb Light infantry. We have enough guns and ammo to start and finish a civil war in some countries. Quad bike, range rover the lot.

It is mainly rabbits. We do take the shotguns, and do a few crows and the odd pigeon. The land is coverd in rabbits. We almost had a fox this year. There are deer, but someone else has the shooting of them, althought he farmer knows that we want it whenever the currant man gives it up.

There is only enough room in the rangie for the two of us, and thats only because McF travels light, and uses my soap!!!

Funny that you should ask how long we have been going up there, as McF and myself had the same discussion with the farmer whilst we were in Scotland.

The best that we could do was McF @ 22 years, and myself @ 11 years.

Each year we go to Scotland we have some must do project or gadget to either make or aquire. This year we had two. The first was to modify the only moderatley sucsessful car door rifle rest, into a rifle rest for the front of the quad. Engineering wise the project worked fine, however we never actually got around to testing the must have item.

Secondly, having been enticed by an article for the oreditor enticer, or twiggley wiggley, we decided that we would pay a well known PW members business a visit and aquire one. Only to find that he was out of stock. He did promise us one in time for scotty, but as time gerew closer it became evident that a let down was on the cards. So we did a little research and ordered one directly from America. It soon became evident that we stood no chance of receiving our US order also stood no chance of arriving in time. I therefore sent out an S O S via PW. The call was answered by rsrjerry, who kindly agreed to loan us his enticer and meet us on route to scotty. Absolute top bloke, he did assure us that he had sucess with crows.

Well, we tried every trick in the book, bird of prey decoy, crow decoys, split open rabbbit, and enticer, you name a combination, we tried it. We built the hide to end all hides, it lacked only only gutters and parquet flooring. In total we expended around 25 man hours spread over 3 days. Had 3 early rises at 4:30 am, and a ride into Aberdeen to buy a crow call, because although I had packed all my calls, I had actually left the one we needed at home. Well you will have guessed by now that our efforts were hardly fruitful. We shot 2 crows, period. We shall do battle with 621.1/2 squadron another time. The sound of their laughing at us still rings in my ears.

Was the enticer any good, well not for us. Not this time. Our own did eventually arrive from USA, I was so impressed by the performance of such items, that the one that we bought is still in the jiffy bag, unopened, I was that impressed. If we do however ever have any luck with the gadget, I will let youe know, but dont hold your breath as I shant be!
