Turkey/Deer Gun

Recommended Posts

While the boys were playing hooky from school on Friday, and fishing....unbeknown to their mother......we ran into my gun smith. Funny thing that as it was his pond we were fishing :good: . He mentioned to stop in up at the house as he had a gun he wanted me to look at. While finishing up with I believe 21 fish we stopped only to be given a Kessler Arms bolt action, full choke 12 guage with the words turn it into a turkey/deer gun for the oldest.

So over the last couple of days we did alittle work on it.

Stock and barrel.

A small crack in the stock being repaired and sealed.

The finnished gun after being shortened by 3/4 of an inch in the stock, having the stock repaired, and being camoed out for turkey and deer.

P.S. just had call from my gun smith, my 303 is now ready, I had the chamber reamed to 3 inch and rebarreled with a factory made 410 barrel. It will now come home and be restocked with a youth stock. Will be a very nice squirrel and rabbit gun for him this fall.

looks like the "marlin goose gun" i cut my teeth on. 36" barrel and extra full choke when my uncle (and mentor) first got it. jeez that was some gun. He had it cut down to a manageable length too for me to use, happy memories indeed shot my first pigeon and pheasant with it.

Thank heavens for sporting relatives :good:
