flash
out lamping last night on a mates land in exmoor, we were using a defender 90 as a platform, with a lamper and shooter standing on the back. first night out we managed 8 rabbits, and a hare this was using 12 bores and a 16 bore. on the second night we were lamping from the same vehicle, and went back over the land we hadnt done the night before, plus a few already done fields. we managed 3 rabbits, and in the last field a pair of telltale fox eyes were spotted at the top of the field. all lights were turned off and the shooters all sat down for safety reasons, while the driver put his foot down to get as near to the fox as possible. once in range he slowed right down, and me and the lamper stood up. i hit the fox once as it got to the top of the devon bank, at which point it fell down, and i gave it its cou de gras at arund 30yrds, using 32g 6 shot. and there you have it, my first ever fox, and im proud as punch. sorry for the low quality picture, taken from my phone(k800i). thanks for looking and reading. cheers flash

Dougy
nice one on the fox ive not shot fox myself with a 12g but i would have thought that a larger shot size would be a better option. been on a few fox drives years ago and it was normally BBs or simalar

Does anyone know where the law stands on this please, they would be a lot easier to shoot with the rifle if this was the case!! Dean
codling99
as far as i am aware, there is no laws to shooting hares day or night, just some people prefer to give them grace at night ,because thier game not vermin, some prefer not to kill hares at all.but legally you can kill them all year round ,day or night .
