We had a day at the races yesterday. Our Greek daughter in law was celebrating ten years of being in the UK and she wanted to do something 'very British' to mark the occasion.

Between us we had ten bets and won on only one at even odds. It was however a happy day out.

would be great for us poor locals if we did not have to put up with the massive disruption caused by this.roads closed all over many miles worth of diversions, lanes closed all so the race traffic can get around.not to mention the locals to the ground even clear off for the weekend to avoid the disruption.on certain events held the town center is deserted due to certain types that are loud and very aggressive.

And,,,, London marathon,,,, great north run,,,, numerous other events, not to mention triathlons, lots of cycling events etc etc 🙈 Nobody can selectively reside in an area and then moan about local 'events'. Townies moving to the countryside and then complaining about the farm 'smells' ! 🙄🥴
