kitchrat
I shot a scrawny young bird this week, no neck ring, very lightweight. Surely it was a late squab from last year, not a 2024 model?

JKD
Saw a bunch of pigeons eating young shoots among the grass in a graveyard the other day,,,, at least two were youngsters, going by the strong colouring of their plumage. Outskirts of Dartford.
marsh man
They are reputed to nest and lay eggs all the year round but with a cold Winter it would be unlikely they can bring off any young with very little food for the young to be worth eating , nowadays we see Daffs out just after Christmas , more rare birds coming to our shores than ever and we have just had the mildest and wettest Februarys on record so although unusual to see young Pigeons at this time of the year it could be something we will see a lot more often than we had seen in the past .
