Mum has hers done today and that what she has been told during her assesment. 👍 thanks for that mine, is still blurry today and very bloodshot but I’m sure it’s slowly improving. Their price list suggests if I were paying it would be : £2600 – £2850 per eye – Surgery with a monofocal lens Bargain! My pa had his done for twice that at Spire. Best investment ever though. Can't muck about with your eyes.

Minky
Really strange that this topic has come up. Last week I was working on the computer screen and I noticed that there was an area that didn't appear to be focused. I only use glasses for close reading. As one of the lenses of one of my two pairs had popped out I decided to book in for an eye test and get a repair to that pair. The eye test was comprehensive and the resulting conclusion was that I had a cataract in my right eye. The optician wrote out a referral which I have sent to my private health care provider online. I await a decision within four days and I'll see how this pans out. I am going to go to a friends clay shoot on Sunday and I don't expect many clays to get past me. The cataract is in my right eye but i am left handed and left master eye. I await a reply for when I can have the examination and potentially an operation. Dave-G
Job done and glad I opted in for it. Done two days ago and as many said it was only temporary and very minor discomfort preparing for, during and after the procedure. Now its all settled I notice everything seems brighter through my 'new' eye than the other eye including the TV screen I'm using for the PC monitor:- it now has a blue/white page instead of a cream background, all the colours are brighter and the text is also much better defined. If anyone is contemplating the procedure and delaying it because it sounds daunting I can highly recommend getting it done if you can manage a few days off strenuous or dusty work:- I've been told not to bend down to tie shoe laces for example for a few days.
