aussie black duck
I have 2KG of Nobel 84 and nearly that much Nobel 82. I want to use it for reloading 20Gauge target shells. I have been using old tins of Nobel 64 and N62 with good success following recipes that were published by the Australian Importer (Augmented by some independent lab test data), but the Nobel 80 series tins didn't have any 20G data (only 12G data) printed on them like the Nobel 60 series tins. I am sure there must have been some data published somewhere, or someone must have some. Can anyone provide it or point me to it please? Windswept
I've sent you a message with some data for 82 in 20g.
enfieldspares
I have an old paperback book that contains much information on Nobel 82 and use of old school reloading gear such as the Bowman and etc.. I would be happy to pass this on for £10 including the postage. Also I will photograph some pages and post them here. There is information on 12, 16, 20 for game, clay and heavier lead loads (useful for where still lawful for duck or foxes). Many thanks Windswept. 🙂 I must say I am really surprised by the data. Even though it is parallel tube hull and fibre wads, 20gn of N62 still seems a LOT for that shot weight and powder!!! I only use plastic wads so I will start with around 16Gn in a Nobelsport or Activ Hull and see how it goes. At least it is an indication to start with. I think, as with the Nobel 60 series, the N84 might be a better bet for the 7/8oz, 20G loads, but I am reluctant to proceed with out at least some indicative data. enfieldspares
These are as scanned direct from the 1978 book "Cartridge Loading" by David Garrard and Fred'k St.Ward and are sent as being that. There is no recommendation from me that these are safe loads or sensible loads or that any old powder being used is still "in specification" and, in today's lawyer laden world, if anyone chooses to do other than read these nearly fifty year old tables out of interest then that is the decision and risk of the person so doing. There is one page for 12 bore only with Nobel 60 and 62. Nothing in any gauge for Nobel 84. 82POWDERa.pdf 82POWDERb.pdf Edited October 24 by enfieldspares
