Kernow king89
Hi everyone, been going out for years with some friends. Applied for my shotgun license back in mid October. Last I heard after contacting Devon & Cornwall police firearms was 13/12/24 was it’s progressed quite far and recently allocated to a firearms officer, and that the geographic area of our area says it will rise a while. Haven’t heard anything since anyone know roughly how long it takes?any advice will be very much appreciated Many thanks

BobbyH
Hi and welcome to PW. Different areas are different times. When I applied for mine in Stafford, it only took 3 months from submitting my application to getting it in the post.

What sort of questions do they ask you? Why I wanted a SGC, how will the SG be stored, where am I going to store the anmo, have I had lessons, how does my partner feel about it. And just questions like that. All the advice I can say, is be 100% honest. If your not, and the FEO thinks your not telling the truth for whatever reason, they will decline it. I don’t know the feo, jsut said a firearms officer has been allocated to it back in 13/12/24.
