lister1
Hi all, I’m looking at Charing cars. the Xtrail seems to fit the bill well. Anyone know what to look for on these? looking at two. one is 2017 the other is 2018. Both 1.6 diesel, automatic. both around 20k miles I seem to think the early ones had engine trouble by I don’t know what years that was. Any thoughts ? fse10
I have a 2017 2lt auto 4x4 Tenka love it. CVT gearbox can have issue's touch wood mines been fine, make sure has good service history as they have a cam chain and oil change's are your friend. The sunroof drains can block as Nissan put little filters on the end of the drain pipe which blocks and can leak into the car and fill under the front seats with water common issue lots on youtube on how to fix. If it has the satnav unit they did have an issue with the dab dropping out and losing signal which is sorted with a free software up date from Nissan some dealers try to charge for this but it is a free update so just say you've spoken to Nissan uk if it's not already been done. There is a xtrail T32 facebook group which is quite good and full of info from onwers. Anther common issue is if it has adblue if you don't keep it topped can be problematic . markm
I have a 2017 X trail AWD tekna 1.6 TD. In the first two years there was issues with the AC. But Nissan were really good. Before this car I changed it every 2-3 years. I’m running this one to the ground (90k so far) for a reason….. I don’t need adblue and it’s a manual. Best car I’ve owned.
