Guest Mr Pieman
He'll ask why you want it? Where you intend to use it? Do you have 'good reason' to posess one etc. PP
rarms
He will ask why you need it, and if you dont know, well.. prolly best not to bother getting one eh
red_stag88
Fox work. Explain that in your view a .22 doesn't guarantee (turns out I can't spell that either) a clean enough kill.

The Sniper
Ern and Red............the new Morecambe and Wise. Kingshooter, They might also ask you how much experience you have got with your 22 lr. Or do you you have sufficient space in your cabinet for a further gun ? Plus why won't your 22lr do you the job you want the 223 for ? How far can a 223 bullet travel ? What could be its potential energy at 100, 200, 300 yards etc ? Why do you want a 223 ? Do you just like the sound of that calibre ? Won't some other calibre do the job ? I'm not being pedantic in asking these questions, but if you give us some idea why you want a 223, we might be able to help with the appropriate answers. Pike
I have also just got .223 on my firearms ticket for fox control and I'm looking for a good but reasonably cheap rifle and scope combination in stainless synthetic - any ideas? I am also considering getting something that is chambered for the new Winchester Super Short Magnum round - has anyone got any experience with these?
