digger
Having read some of the replies I think cats are for people who are too stupid to have a dog, dogs need affection, cats need a cat flap and some mug that lets it pooh in the house and spread its germs on the bed / work tops. How wonderful it must be to have an animal that craps in a box in the kitchen

How wonderful it must be to have an animal that craps in a box in the kitchen Cats that '**** in kitchens' don't have cat-flaps. Cats lick their bottom clean, if needed (and more often not needed.) Dogs don't. Poll: Dogs have most votes 'cos humans have the upper hand and 'use' them. Dogs are 'brown nosers'. Cats have fewer votes because humans can't get the upper hand. A cat CHOOSES its friends. A dog is a mug, and anybody's.
vole
Make no mistake , I would have my Border Terrier if we weren,t out the house 8 hours a day.In the meantime,my cat is good for my kid to get used to animals. Both serve a purpose.Depends on your circumstances. AdamC
It has to be dogs all the way for me. I will tollerate a cat, possibly even find it mildly entertaining, but guess I am shallow and need the emotional reassurance of a dog! Cats loose out on so many levels in my opinion. They didn't coin the phrase "Man's Best Friend" did they?
