M ROBSON
In my opinion you will need at least a .22 hornet to regularly shoot foxes, preferably something bigger. A .22lr and a .17HMR will do the job at short ranges but they are not ideally suited for the task. Mark.
markbivvy
Hope you are not going to shoot fox with a .22rf. or the 17 hmr. as west yorkshire police wont allow it.

njc110381
.22lr & .243Win IMO That would be my plan too. You can get some really light bullets for the .243 which will be pretty flat shooting for the Fox, but if you ever wanted to shoot Deer you could. The .22lr is ok if you want to be silent, but I prefer a HMR myself for the range it gives you. Just ask for all three, you can justify it I think
tjdwillis
dont rule out your land for a centrefire. i was surprised when my land was passed for an HMR a few years ago and i have recently had it passed for a .243. bout 100-150 acres of shallow valley in suffolk. foot path going straight through the middle. firearms officer said footpaths dont bother him because when there is no one on them they dont make a difference! sounds like hes better than most!
