Lee, not being funny, but is that not simply a larger GB and TV version of the N95? Bet it will nearly have to be connected to the power socket! :good: Not too fussed with the TV aspect, it's rubbish enough without having to take it with me everywhere! :good:

I agree Oly that The Batt life is dire. Good camera though

Lee, your right excellent camera.

I popped into the Orange Shop today and got a trio out to try. Out of the K850i, the Viewty and the G600 I think at the moment I am heading towards the Viewty, but still not sure.

The best picture wise was probably the K850i, which was marginally better than the Viewty, and both were better than the G600, but not by that large a margin really. I guess they are all competing in the same market and compared to my old phone they look great! :good: Obviously screen clarity also comes into review the pictures you've just taken too.

My worries about the G600 shutter lag didn't seem to be realised though, which was a positive. Nor were my worries about the K850i's reported problem with indoor shots coming out black, but the buttons weren't great. Although the Viewty is a touch wider, it is a very impressive phone and has a lot more future proof features on too. Plus a much better ability to take movies, inparicular slow-mo's...if you so wish! :good:

Like I say though, still time to think it over and possibly look at a few more. Anything else likely to come out soon that might be worth waiting for?

what next??? you will be ble to cook your dinner on your phone soon. maybe im just old fashioned when it comes to phones because of where we live(dont get half the functions). i only ever text and phone what more do people want.

MJames, I know where your coming from, BUT my ideal would be:

Phone

Texts

Decent camera & flash (so I don't have to take another)

GPS

Rubberised for durability

Bluetooth to connect to my car & laptop to syncronise my calender and contacts (in case I lose/break it!)

Decent battery life

If its gonna be used for hunting like mine was until I got the iPhone then a cheap Digi Camera would do. Cheap as chips

Like I say Lee, I don't want to have to take more gear out with me. Out of interest this website ( http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/lg-viewty-ku990.htm ) rates the Viewty over the iPhone. Havent seen, let alone tried an iPhone so can't comment.

Oly,

i use a K850i and its cracking mate, its also pretty good as a fox calling tool if you use mp3's

I've read that the touchscreen buttons on the K850i can be accidentally touched by your face when in a call, had any issues with this? Also, have you experienced the black indoor photo issues that I mentioned previously?

Cheers mate :good:

Had a better play with both the Viewty and the K850i today. Although the Viewty is good, I don't think it's for me just yet...maybe a bit too flash! :good: Also I found the novelty of minimal keypad wore off after a not so short time. I think I have also ruled out the G600 as it is top heavy when texting and is a little too 'trendy', which leaves me with the K850i. Like I say, I played with it some more today and I think the small buttons are OK, and I figured out what the reportly 'black' indoor photos were...if you hold the phone in the wrong way (i.e. the most confortable way) when taking a portrait photo, using your thumb to depress the 'shoot' button, your index finger is in the way of the flash!! :good:

So K850i seems to be the verdict...but you never know...it's still a few weeks off!!

no issues with the screen buttons and i see you've worked out the black screen thing - it doesn't take long to learn how not to do it :good:

For me the Sony Ericsson is number one camera wise.

However I have just upgraded mine (K800i) and lucky I did as it started to play up a bit after 18 months, pressing for example 6 would give you a variety of options and whether you actually got 6 or the associated letters was more persistance then anything else! :good:

I went for the Blackberry 8310 because I got it free and its going to be real handy over the next year or so!

Have always found this site handy:
