Sundowner
Do they already market a pigeon version??? I;d love to get my pigeons in close , so I can actually hit them and a birdie like that would just be the thing I always knew that if I waited long enough they'd find something helping me getting pigeons Edited February 13, 2008 by Sundowner

Will Beasley
They've been around for ages. My main hobby is RC stuff, and initially I thought how cool it would be to have a RC pigeon, but to actually fly one and shoot would be beyond difficult! Maybe some kind of GPS system incorportated into the bird so it would fly round "hands off" would be the solution but then you run into problems with battery power and all that. Nah...... back t'ut drawin board.
Cosd
One of these would have been great last Sunday. It would have given me something to shoot at at least But then again, knowing my luck that day it would have flown off and perched in a tree somewhere else all day

Millomite
I have wondered about this too. I was wondering whether there would be some kind of system to have the pigeon attached to a rail in a certain pattern running along on a motor, similar to that of a scaletrix. The rail could be supported off the ground by rods and the pigeon could be programmed to go around the circuit one every 30 secs etc
Cranfield
I saw a radio controlled flying bird demo once and apart from all the things Will has already mentioned, the one I saw made a heck of a whining noise, just like a model airplane. The idea of a decoy sliding along a "clothes line" has been around for a long time, as has a variation where you tie one end to a tree (or pole) and the other end is pegged in your decoy pattern. When the pigeons approach, you release a winged decoy that slides down the rope into your pattern. Neither of these ideas ever took off, because they need so much setting up and its doubtful that they actually create any advantage above the basics. Yes absolutely brilliant concept no but but no no no no time to shoot whilst pratting about making it work, its one for the Game Fair 'Pigeon Row' boys : Deco & Co. No no no now this is really what is needed a flying/landing woodpigeon hollogram projected 20-30metres out from your fixed position. C.B. LOL I have suggested it to Will in the past but he wasnt sure if it could be done. They would be a bit bigger than normal pigeon decoys but that ain't a bad thing. I have looked high and low for a reversible rubber, something like the old flexicoy. I reckon it'd be ace. I know when I go out pigeon shooting I always but both pigeon and crow decoys out and it'd save me buying two lots and I could chop and change depending on which birds are feeding
