spoonfishuk
hi there. bought a new silver pigeon multi choke yesterday and I noticed that the choke in my top barrel was flush with end of the barel, but the bottom one was sunk slightly. I have looked carefully and seems that there is a difference in the position of the threads of the two barrels, perhaps a manufacturing fault? Is this a fault? the boys at GMK are closed for the weekend, cant wait till monday! would like to your opinions?

Zapp
Unless one is jutting out to the point that you suspect it is not seating properly, dont worry about it. Silver pigeon is a gorgeous gun, get out there and enjoy it! ZB

spoonfishuk
Its strange, but my dads silver pigeon 's' chokes are perfectly equal sunk about 2 mm below the end of the barrels, makes you wonder!
Jimbo57
I have a 687 multichoke and noticed something similar. The gunshop wifie said that it was OK so long as the choke tube was either flush with the end of the barrel or slightly inset but that it should not sit proud of the barrel. njc110381
Mine sit about the same depth, but one of them doesn't go in without the help of the key. The other just spins in. Annoying, but it doesn't cause any problems.
spoonfishuk
had a talk with a gun smith, he wasnt sure, which made me uneasy....it seems that a few people are experiencing the same thing
bignoel
both mine sit just right level with each other perfect fit i surpose some do and some dont.as long as they give the same sport no harm done heh.
spoonfishuk
hey guys, finally got it sorted.... GMK just widened the threading and lowered the recess where the choke sits. they say it happens when a die begins to wear out, and in this case it happened when they changing the barells. so...all sorted only a cosmetic problem mind you, then again you don expect it from a bretta... squodged
I've found that with my Beretta that somes choke fit flush and some don't. I never gave it much thought until now! Are the chokes you've got Beretta originals or aftermarket?
Devon Fox
Mine sit nice and flush, and you are right, you do not expect a Berreta to have problems

spoonfishuk
hi mate, all chokes are berettas, they do vary in length tho, I was told that beretta comission someone to make them. easy way to test is to lay them next to each on on soemthing like a piece of glass
