sjk88
Hi guys, I have recently made a thumbstick using stag antler and horn as the handle and am just wondering what polish/varnish/finish do I use on the antler and horn?? Also, what shall I use on the wood?? I shall post pictures soon when it is all complete with a finish. sjk

henry d
I don`t use anything on antler and have never used horn so can`t comment, but I like boiled linseed oil for the wood unless it is a stick that has had to be steamed straight or is to be used in wet places ie. a beaters stick, when I use yacht varnish. new to the flock
Like H, I use nothing on the antler, but I like to use bees wax and wax the sticks every 4 months or so. NTTF
