Scope sugestions

If you're only going to be foxing or shooting muntjac/CWD, then I'd definitely go with Mung's suggestion. There's a lot to be said for the simplicity of a fixed-mag scope.

If you're also going to be using the .223 to take rabbits, corvids and other vermin, then I'd go for a variable-mag scope, something like a 6.5-20x50 (I have one on a .22-250). I personally use a Meopta 3-12x56 on my .223, as I don't need enormous amounts of magnification for this rifle.

Yep, there's a lot to be said for a fixed power for foxing, it makes range judging easier as you do not have to try to work out what size it would be in the scope for any given power. I use 8 x 56 on the 243 for fox, and a 4-12 x 56 on the 223 for rabbits and crow etc, being smaller targets, it makes the job easier.

Have a look through a luepold mk4 tactical. WOW! Im only using a 3.5-10 x 42 and the light gathering and clarity is unreal. Bit more money but worth it. Schmidt 8x56 eould be next on my list though. Had a good look at one and very nice indeed.
