Si-Bore
Hey guys Rushed home from work at 3.30. Was set up by 4.15. The flocks were in the trees in the other field. Put out 5 dead birds, 5 plastics and the magnet at the head of the pattern about 10m in front of me. The flock came over and were diving at the decoys. First shot about 15m and dead bird. I thought - this is gonna be good. Next 2 shots missed within 30m! I hit the next which flew across the field and died in mid air 100m from me - not ideal I know. I ended up firing 12 carts and killing 4 birds. Normally I get 1 with 2 carts average, often better. I felt my swing was jerky and know I was lacking smoothness and lead on the missed birds. I find it frustrating which makes it worse, increasing the chances of missing. Shame though as I could have taken 10 in that hour. Now I just want to get back out and have a good day................ Cheers Si

beatingisbest
If you stop trying to analyse why you were missing and just shoot like you always have done you will hit a lot more.
Sundowner
I know what you are saying, but just imagine, like in my case .......................... I always miss most of them I am considering doing a "club for lousy shots" and the only entry requirement would be to have at least one witness ( who is taking the p*** with style and at great length) on what a cr*p shooter that applicant is .......... I guess I am number ONE !!!!!! Anybody wants to join? Take the photo below, I should have had at least double   Edited March 20, 2008 by Sundowner

A guy that comes with me is forever talking to himself while shooting and i've told him time and again to forget all the thinking and just shoot
Si-Bore
Cheers for the sympathy fellas. I went out yesterday afternoon, missed a floater over the decoys and thought - here we go again but then a high bird came in 30m out and probably 25m high. I gave him some good lead and he fell dead as can be. It may have only been one bird in the bag but it made me smile for the night. Cheers Si

Si-Bore
Sometimes you can have the best pattern and a perfectly placed magnet - if they don't want to feed or they just have you wont get them. I have learnt a lesson there..... Were you under a flightline or where they were feeding? Si
