pete evans
ok guys quick straw poll. what do you find more effective, peckers or flappers? i know that under different conditions either could be better on the day. i was just curious about what people generally found to be more effective. pete
Cranfield
When watching feeding pigeons at a distance, you notice more wing movements than pecking movements. So, for pulling pigeons from a distance, I prefer anything with wing movement, be it flappers or floaters. You can also use them on almost every crop, something you can't say about peckers. Cranfield
c.moseley, if you want to be taken seriously on here, keep your infantile comments to the General Banter Section.

Cranfield
When someone asks a serious question, they are entitled to a serious answer. Not some childish, pathetic, "pecker" comment. I have a great sense of humour, but obviously not quite at the same level as yours.

M ROBSON
I'd go for a flapper every time, there much more visual and have good pulling power. Like Cranfield says, can be used on most crops. On swathed Rape or a high stubble the pecker is going to struggle a bit.

Salopian
Gentlemen/Ladies, This may not be the correct place to air my views but here goes anyway. I log on to this site because I am interested in pigeon shooting and anything to do with shooting.I am not interested in the childish bickering that goes on between various traders (you know who you are) or cheap/snide remarks slagging everyman & his/her dog off so please stop.Use the site properly. Technical. In BASC's Shooting & Conservation Magazine July/August 2004 there is an interesting article about Fibre/Plastic cartridges read & enjoy. sutty
The flapper is the first thing in my bag pete for all the reasons given above. Its followed very closely by floaters. Regards Sutty
