DaveP3@
Hi All, Had a little break in the weather lately which prompted me to get out on one of my shoots 2 nights on the bounce (owner was a little concerned with my inactivity ). Went out tuesday night and had a great night. Smashed in excess of 30 bunnies, considering im on Shank's is not too bad (sorry no pics from Tue). As the weather was good enough on Weds, grabbed the kit and set off for another night out. I was hoping for the same quality of sport as the night previous but it didnt quite work out On getting there and starting off i managed to 'go over' on my ankle within 30m of the car carried on and saw my first bunny of the evening, I took aim but managed to miss it completely (~60yards). I put that one down to over confidence from the night previous and my ankle which was still knacking :(. Again, carried on for a few mins and spotted lucky contestant #2, again rabbit God was smiling on this one and i missed this one too. I was mightily pee'd off to say the least and toyed with turning back and binning it. Had a quick check zero and all was good, me just being an eejit Set off again and decided to go from 1 half of shoot to other by the access route which connects them. Have a quck scan down the path and see 3 set of eyes, 2 bunnies and the 3rd foxy . Strange watching it really as the bunnies didnt seem too bothered with foxy being so close . Anyway, gave a quick squeek and it didnt seem too bothered, he went up an embankment and i lost sight of him :(. I decided to stay put and see if he came back down, about 2 mins later foxy does Shot was taken at 45 yards from ~5 yards below. Bullet hits just underneath and behind eye. Foxy certainly didnt like 40gr of .22 rimmy and dropped on the spot without a twitch. Upon inspection i realised its one that ive been after for months. Followed the same ish routine and very crafty, until this shot hed never given me a chance of a shot (with either .22LR or .17HMR). Im not a big 'foxer' but do enjoy the sport when i get it. Happy that this chappy was bested finally Anyway, a couple of pics (NV one is me just messing around with a new camera) http://img174.imageshack.us/my.php?image=today016pi8.jpg http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/3735/today007mi5.jpg If you got this far, thanks for reading Dave.
