bob300w
Yep, they will take peas and foilage from the day that they are planted to the day that they are harvested, and still feed on the field after the harvest.

sandersj89
Sanders never seen pigeon attack bean growth, spilled beans yes but not the plant ?? They will take the leaves on beans when the plants are small/tender. They do prefer pea foliage as a rule though. We have had fields of peas hit hard in the past when the plants are at the 2 to 4 pairs of leaves stage.
anser2
Chess , about 100 pigeons were feeding on young bean shoots on one of my farms today. Cant shoot them though , the field backs onto a village and has public footpaths and a road on the other 3 sides of the field. Highlander
Chess , about 100 pigeons were feeding on young bean shoots on one of my farms today. Cant shoot them though , the field backs onto a village and has public footpaths and a road on the other 3 sides of the field. I have the same problem, lots of pea fields to shoot but only one the birds are interested in is bounded by houses and main roads. The other fields are popping through nicely but not a bird in sight. Oh well that's pigeon shooting...I'm going stalking!
