With my HMR I did the whole centrefire routine and copper solvented it after every shot at first. I tried that a couple of times but the patch was just coming out grey/black (powder residue). There was no sign of disolved copper (blue) so I didn't bother after that. Now I just boresnake mine and it's accurate enough. I've fired several hundred rounds down it without rodding it again, just boresnaking after 50 rounds or so.

I may solvent it again soon to see if anything comes out, but I get the feeling it's not going to.

as i was running my 17 hmr CZ American in, was cleaning it every five to fifty, was getting black residue on patch with rod, after fifty every 20

up to a 100 and now every 50 rounds i clean it with rod and patch. tried solvent on patch, but no copper residue, so now only clean dry patch, repeating until patch comes out clean.

and it shoot virtually zero at 100yds. rabbits clean kills cross hair on from 60 to 140. had about 300 rounds through it.
