hello mate,

 

it sounds like the starter is sticking. make sure the battery is fully charged and try banging it with something pretty solid whilst turining the engine over. this should be enough to free it up, but it will need replacing soon.

I had exactly that on my 1995 honda foreman 400, the brushes in the starter motor were worn badly once they were replaced it started fine :lol: The new brushes were £38 whilst a new starter motor was £400 :lol:

The little cylinderrical thing is the starter rely. I got the haynes manual out (for a honda but would be similarto other makes) and Its says in the trouble shooting section about the not starting to check the: Fuse or starter rely defective or wireing shorting or bad contact. hope this helps in any way :hmm:
