Barrel length?

I am going to get my escort tomorrow and I cant decide on what barrel length 26"/28" (i am favouring 28"). My Greener is 25" and i shoot ok with that and my dads AyA is 28" and i shoot well with that, and I was wondering what are the avantages of longer/shorter barrels (apart from being closer to the target) and which one would be better for Pigeons,Clays and Rough?

i,d consider the 26 inch just cus semi,s are a bit longer overall,i,ve got a 30inch extrema and its a bit long to be honest wish i,d gone for 26 inch

i shot a mate`s 26" beretta 391 at clays the other week and found it a little short. much prefer a 28" barrel on a semi. i`m sure the short barrel would be great for hide shooting. i`m sure the dealer will have both to let you try before you buy

you dont need to choose, cause the escort luxano comes with 2 barrels a 26" AND a 28" make sure you get both !

I like 28's in doubles and 26's in semis. Much of that comes from my being brought up walking for game (rough shooting). The longer barrel semi's tend to get caught in the briars and tangles more than the shorter guns. I even started using an LT-20 which has a 24" barrel and a shorter frame/stock.

 

I started using doubles with short barrels (24") because that's what we had. I've lengthened with each gun I've gotten and I'm up to 28" now and like it. It still swings shorted than a 26" barreled semi but has good weight distribution.
