indie
HI, folks does anyone know if it is possible to have my mk70 sporter back bored ,is it cost effective , should i swap it for mk38 , i shoot it very well but after shooting mk38 i am taken by the smoother feel , cheers
Catamong
It's probably back bored already, most modern guns are. The MK38 you tried was probably a tad heavier, hence the smoother feel..?? Cat.

indie
definately not backbored , only available on mk38 as standard , both gun wiegh same same cartidges hull comp x 7.5 28g 30" barrels
Emmsy
i wouldnt bother messing. having had both the mk60 and mk38 the difference is negligable. smoothing out the forcing cones might help a bit. but your best bet is to find some smoother shooting shells. Windknot
I'd give Teague a ring- see what they say. Though it might be cheaper to px the 70 on a 38... Edited June 24, 2008 by Windknot
dunganick
or get a 38 barrel fitted to the 70 tbh recoil on the mk70 isnt bad at all. You could also have the forcing cones bored out amoungst a range of other things. Pointless tbh.
Gordon R
If it was backbored, would this not remove the chrome lining? I would just swap the gun, if that is what you want. I have owned both and could not tell the difference.
Cushat
If you want a smoother feel, ditch the Comp X (which aren't bad shells by any means) and try the Intercomp in 24g - much smoother and you won't notice a drop in scores.
indie
thanks for the advice Cushat tried the intercomp 24g bit pricey but as you said very smooth also tried gamebore blue diamond back to back another nice cartridge, also a bit dearer than comp x , but all the same thanks for the input
