Jim Sarakun
LIKE YOU, PIGEONS EAT EVERY DAY, WETHER IT IS RAINING OR NOT. IN PROLONGED FOUL WEATHER, THEY DECOY BETTER. Edited July 5, 2008 by Jim Sarakun
Cranfield
Whilst pigeons need to feed all the time, its my experience that the weather does influence where they feed. I don't think they like open fields and heavy rain and can normally be found in shelterd corners, or in the woods when the rain really falls. Intermittent showers of rain or snow are OK, as they will pop out for a feed in the dry spells. Preparing for a fishing trip last week at around 4 am, I saw pigeons flying into wheat fields behind our cottage and they are still dropping in there at 8.30 pm. So, regardless of the weather they have a long day available to them at this time of year for feeding, so they can pick their time to suit the weather conditions. the hitman
I had a go today on spring rape , the pigeons kept coming in the light rain , but when it turned heavy they took to the woods for shelter. All my gear is soaked , the cocker was like a drowned rat , but still shot 20 in an hour and a half.
