You're a lucky man, Mr Pot. I won't be able to make it, so you're in with an outside chance
Catamong
I did it a couple of years back in the pouring rain, wasn't impressed with the layout or the organisation one little bit, so won't go back there. There'll be better targets on offer this Sunday at Southdown. I keep hankering back to the days when the shoot was at Roundwood, near Basingstoke, now that was truly a World Championship, with a good turnout of Yanks & Europeans, anybody that was anybody in the Clay shooting scene was there. Ah...nostalgia ain't what it used to be..!! Shoot well guys. Cat. Edited July 4, 2008 by Catamong
Wookie
One of my friends is going. She's not been shooting that long, but still wanted to give it a try. Gopod luck all!
Claybuster
Hey up POTT spoke to Rocket Ron last night & he's looking forward to it, though he's a bit brassed off about being at my house for 6am. He will get some serious stick when I thrash him with his old beretta Auto. I might even let him have a go with it just to show him it shoots better than his new one. Although he's been hitting mid 80s on his last two sporting shoots. See U there M8
tosspot
How horrendous was that? Absolutely sheet rain from start to finish! Our squad of six after 6 stands became a squad of four and after 8 stands a squad of two as people started going home early. The wind was gusting and in all a thoroughly miserable day. Shot an 80, dropping 18 birds over the first 4/5 stands, simply could barely see, why oh why is the wearing of glasses compulsory when shooting at targets going away from you 30 yards distant? In all an experience, you spend an age looking forward to a biggy only to be let down by the weather, hey ho. Didn't see any ex PWers, maybe next time. JonnyR
Hi All, I was there and can only agree the weather was horrendous. It was my first ever comp and I carded a 58 which I was pretty pleased with. Some pretty stiff targets made all the worse by the wind and rain. Knackered after it - trying to concentrate for 120 birder over 15 stands plus the stupid-o-clock start ;-) Onwards and upwards. Jonny. Mungler
Pete, Sounds like a rough one. There is nothing worse than the anticipation of a good shoot that turns to **** for one reason or another. Incidentally, I looked at the CPSA webby and there appears to be an "All Round" event at Dartford this month (27.7.08) - fancy it?
