Scarpa
A handy tip if you have a dual key cabinet is to hide each key in a seperate location. A spare can be kept with a relative who has no access to the location (and best if they do not even know what they are keeping). Or stick the spare in your work key cabinet with a fake label on it. Often safer then leaving them around your house.

reedbradshaw
my spare set is kept on top of my cabinet....just so i know where they are
MC
You'd be much better off if you do the same as me and leave them hanging out of the lock. You will always know where they are. Security is no problem as there is no guns in the cabinets, they are all leaning up behind the back door.
reedbradshaw
back door ? think im going to store mine on the back seat of the car. Then they will allways be with me, not going to bother putting them in the boot. I need the space for my shopping. Also whilst its on the back seat i may leave it loaded and out of its bag, just so i can start that little bit earlier when i arrive at the shoot.....im a bit unsure about the safety yet though..think ill leave it on whilst doing this...after all, better safe than sorry. Axe
Despite what has happened in the past to some members I am still surprised at what people type on an open public forum, even if it is meant to be in jest. That aside, well done, enjoy it, if the FEO is suggesting FAC as coterminus its only another £10, go for it.

Axe
Perhaps i'm over cautious but noone would say these sort of comments infront of their FEO, especially at an interview. Knowing that people have got into complications over forum comments before, well you see what i'm getting at. Imagine Reed loosing his license before it arrives. al4x
the interesting thing is when you apply for your FAC how are you meant to know all the ins and outs with no one being meant to know where the keys are etc. Fine if you use PW but otherwise it should be up to the FEO to tell you. Personally my spare set are tucked under a floor board and the main ones are on my car keys so always with me when I leave the house, then the cupboard the cabinet is in is locked and the key is elsewhere
