Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
Hi henry. Is the 2nd pic the result of a peruque (forgive the spelling) head, i am just getting started in deerstalking and though i have seen photos of the condition on live deer. I have no idea what one would find on a prepared head in those circumstances. rgds GSAW

Traztaz
fIIIIIIIIIIIIIIk me Henry they are some amazing heads!!!!I shot what has resulted in my best ever Roe last night, not because he is massive but because he was ancient!!!As I first saw him I put him up as a 2 year old ( you will see when I post some pics in the future of the trophy), but was amazed to observe this two year old minuets later take o and beat to hell a really strong buck that enterd the field!!As I first saw the strong buck I thought I would shoot him, but the fight happened very quickly. So there was I sat gaping a this two year old that had just seen off a massive buck , he turned and the first thing I noticed was his testicals were massive!!!( PLEASE NO FUNNY COMMENTS!!), then I noted that he was more yellow than red, he moves closer, oooooooooooooo boy he as rosenstock, pedicules I think it is in English really far down the sides of his head( they spread with age), anyway to cut a long story short I thought initially a 2 year old , rechecked with what I had seen , decided must be older and shot him when the moment was correct, however got the shock of my life when I went to pick him up, for me certainly the oldest buck ever shot , showed him to a forster friend( forestry commision) who ha shot hundreds of Roe and he stated he had never seen a Roe buck so old!! Not the biggest trophy as he was in recession but certainly my best of those I have shot so far. Very happy here.
Hodmedod.one
They are both awesome trophies. I dont reckon much to the mounting technique on the right hand one though!
Holland&Holland
Nice looking heads, but indeed a shame to put a screw like that through its forehead. Can be better mounted Is the second one maybe a find? Because of the state it is in (a bit messy, it is missing a few teeth and a part of the nosebone) Edited July 17, 2008 by Holland&Holland
v-max
Was the head shot this year in Angus?. I have heard of a buck in Aberdeenshire that makes a 150cic buck look like a spiker.

Because of the state it is in (a bit messy, it is missing a few teeth and a part of the nosebone) I would think it was a find, I couldn`t ask at the time as the guy was in a deep conversation for 5 minutes and I needed to visit the beer tent
Sten Ch
Big, yes, but not beautiful. A really big AND beautiful buck was shot a few kilometers from my house on Setember 11th 2001 (sic!). It is 222,1 points CIC, a fraction smaller than the Scottish head, but REALLY beautiful (see picture). In fact this is the most beautiful big head I have ever seen and I have seen and handled a few, including a couple of world records. It weights 787 gram and is one of the biggest in the whole of Sweden. Our record trophy weighs 875 gram and measures 246,9 points and held the world record for 25 years, but it isn't nearly as beautiful as the 11th September buck! sako751sg
I think the new record is very bailliesque, and surprised that they allowed it with the skull thickening. Was lucky enought to have one scored at Scone last year scoring 167 points, and weighing 730g.I had one scored at Moy this year,a 10 pointer, and it scored 157.50 points.I have tried to upload pics on here but im not too sure what im doing wrong,as they are too big.All the heads are shot in Aberdeenshire, and ive managed one gold, two silvers and a bronze this year.Cheers,Dave.
