Silicone pipe/hose

Hi all

I'm looking for a small amount of very soft rubber style pipe tubing, to try and increase the waterproofing of my ferret box. The water is getting in around the edges of the doors, so what I'm after is some kind of very soft rubber tubing, like the kind (I'm told) that aquarium owners use, or like you would find on an air line. The ply is 4mm, so I want to cut it to length, slit it lengthways and slide it on to the ply, so that when I close the lids and latch them, it compresses the rubber a bit and makes a fairly watertight seal. I know that there's some technically minded people on here, so any pointers to exactly what I need, and where to get it from would be appreciated.

And before you all start taking the Michael, I'm not a joiner, and I can't do close fitting wood joints............! :good:

As always, thanks in advance.

why not try a bead of silicone..from a tube...leave it to dry...then you have the seal where you require it without the fiddly cutting of tubes etc etc

Sheet of damp polythene on one surface bead of silicon on the other - close the box and leave overnight - silicon should not stick to damp polythene but will stick like **** to a blanket to the ply. When set(hence the overnight) open the box and peal off the polythene - perfik seal :good::hmm::lol:
