V8landy
Hi I am looking to buy my first gun cabinet, any advice or tips? I have seen this one on ebay! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-POLICE-APP...id=p3286.c0.m14 Thanks
steve_b_wales
The cabinet on fleabay is okay and, if the bidding remains low, will be a bargain. You might be better off going to a RFD and picking one up yourself while saving on the delivery charges. A similar one to the one advertised sell for around 90 -100 pounds. Shop around and check out the prices. Also, ask yourself will you need a bigger sized cabinet in the future. It's easier to get a bigger one now and fill it as you go along, than to realise in time that the one you have now is too small. I found that out the hard way. Hope this helps. THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Look in the sales & put a wanted post for one. S/H is cheaper. I'm about to get a 6 rifle cab' & sell my 7 shotty cab' Have a look here for general info then look at the "list"available for more info. http://www.brattonsound.co.uk/sentinel.html I'm going for a RL7 @ £209. If you want one for rifles with scopes you need one around 12" or 300mm deep or you'll have to put them in sideways, hence my need of a change. Mungler
If you are new to the sport you are probably not yet at the point where you could ever consider filling one of these. However, you will. Save yourself a load of time and aggro and just get one of these: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...&hl=cabinet I think there is a smaller gun one as well with prices between £275 and £400 delivered. EDIT: Give these lot (the importers) a bell: http://www.highlandoutdoors.co.uk/Buffalo%20River.html Edited August 31, 2008 by Mungler

It was pretty cost effective and the cops liked it.

Jim145
I agree with the Brattonsound reccomendations - thats what I went for and its a serious safe (mine is an RL7+) When the Firearms Officer came around when I applied for my SGC he took one look at it, said "oh, its a Brattonsound" and that was it - he was happy.
