Lightforce lamp

I have given up on all the factory (and Deben) fittings and cabling provided on Lightforce lamps. I run two 170s on 100w each, and have replaced all cabling and plugs with more substantial stuff.

That's nothing that a soldering iron won't sort though.

great lamp wiring and fittings **** :good:

As others say - that particular problem is a simple soldering job that most DIY'rs would manage.

In fairness it's hardly surprising these plugs and cable come apart with all the flexing they have to do as you move about and constantly raise and lower your guns while pulling a trailing wire about. And that's not including the accidental snags that must surely occur sometimes. I don't get any bother with my Atom Tactical pro plug ends - but these dont need to flex as the (custom oversize) battery pack is in a pouch on the rifle butt.

Recent improvements in battery technology and chargers (lipo's and such) should allow much smaller and lighter power packs with only a bit of fooling around... at a price of course. It should'nt take too much work to get a stripped out lappy battery pack to fit on a rifle butt. I have'nt done that because I already have one that does all I need it to for rimmie ranges.

As you can see I don't get any glare back either :hmm:

Edit: Deben will make extension wires (leeds  ) with the integral plugs any length you want for about a fiver each. If the pins become loose in the sockets open them out with a small screwdriver so they become larger and tighter.

Don't waste your money buying the same **** connections again, that's what you'll be doing and they will break, burn or melt I guarentee you. Go along to a local car or electronics shop and tell them what you need to do, 12v whatever amp battery powering a whatever Watt bulb. You need connections suitable for outdoors, they'll get you what you need, buy a cheapie soldering iron and solder and away you go Mr Gadget! It's better to do the connections yourself, that way you know you've done a good job and can relax about it. Get those same connections again and you'll be out some night and be lamping around, next thing - blink --------- blinkblink----- (*%$! What's that smell... Blink--- Time for home.

Ya John,

I distinctly remember you telling me at the time I bought it.......if I had my time back I'd buy a variable lamp with the timmer on the handle that can be toggled with your dump (Robert Bucknell has it on one of his youtube vids)

BTW anyone have experience with these new light weight lithium batteries
