Howdy folks its been a good while since i last posted pics due simply to lack of time!I have been doing a nice bit of lamping since the start of september and i cant get over the amount of foxes that have moved in on my shooting patch since summer has ended every stubble field we have drove into has held at least one fox i have knocked at least 15 that i can recall some really nice shots too the dog fox in the following pics was one of the good shots he was seriously big the biggest i have got in a long long time we actually tought it was a labrador dog in the field until i looked through the kahles he just kept walking and walking i kept tabs on him through the rangefinder i pinged him at 210yrds then he stepped into a uncut patch of wheat i kept an eye on it through the scope he stepped out at the opposite end of the patch now 250yrds away i held about 2" high on his shoulder and squeezed the bullet clearly impacted as we heard a really loud thud come back the fox ran about 20yards then dropped the remington umc hp struck just a tiny bit back missing the heart but we could'nt get over the size of him-a prime example of of a really healthy dog fox :good:

This dog fox was shot on saturday night my friend shane was shooter using my .223 for the few hours we were out before fog stopped play :good:

We drove into a stubble field and soon spotted a wary fox down the far end of the field we see this fox every time we go into this spot but it is very clever(due to the rest of its family getting ko'd while it was present) and followed its usual route out of the field but there no more than 100yrds away was another fox lying down in the only part of the field we didnt shine the lamp on :good: he was really really content with something at his feet shane got steady and placed an american eagle 50gr into its left eye all shane could see was its head so it was a good accurate humane shot, the fox had a deep hole freshly scooped out in the middle of the field i dont know what it was after

Frank will reconise these fellas :good::good: I stalked in from a good distance out to about 40yards of this herd of wild goats i didnt shoot any because i had no help to drag the body back but if they become a problem for the farmer i will help him out and just use the quad to get the bodys back to the road, there was some really big males in this group.

That a big old fox, any idea on the weight? Someone apparently shot a 17 1/2lb dog on my neighbors ground in the spring. No way of verifying that but it was a fair bit bigger than average for the area.

Gareth

I have no idea how heavy it was gareth but it was every bit as big as my alsation bitch at home :good: Heres a pic of his tail along with the other tails we got that night you can clearly see how much bigger a fox it was and the other foxes we got wernt small by any means :good:

Heres another interesting fox i came across last month again another dog but this fox was a survivor you can see its bottom jaw got badly cut up at some point in his life either from terriers or fighting with another fox its hard to know exactly what caused it but it pulled through nicely as it was a nice big healthy fox.
