sjk88
I have got this air rifle and it too was my first. In fact I got it last year for my birthday in December. I would say £185 isn't a bad price for it. Mine was £249, which included rifle, scope, scope mounts and pellets. It is a great gun to use, not the lightest but it's good build quality being Weihrauch. I have got good groups with it as well. The cocking mechanism i.e. breaking the barrel and pulling it down is slightly stiff at first but mine loosened up after a little while of being used. I have found it to be a good starter air rifle and will use it for a few more years, before investing in a PCP. If it feels right for you, then go for it. sjk

AirArmsDavid
Buy the 95k, it's the better rifle. 99 is a parts bin special from Weihrauch.
happyshooter
I agree with airarns david the hw95k is a great gun ,i am lucky to own 2 of them one in each calibre for a springer they are easy to handle, accurate, reliable, and not too heavy, as a 1st gun a hw95k is a good choice. good luck with your choice. regds brian
Saltashshooter
hi thanks for the advice but i dont really want my mum and dad forking out loads lol the 99s is about 60 cheaper at the shop soo its defiantly going to be the 99s thanks for the replys
j.stuart
all hws are good. I'm posting mainly because of your scope choice.the hw will brake a hawke 4x40 eventually.as with all springer's you need a decent scope. budget scope's won't handle springer's recoil. Saltashshooter
ok thanks mate what scope would you recomend? btw there will be a 1 piece mount on it as i have heard that they are alot more resitant to recoil and sturdier. thanks in advance
sitsinhedges
I own both and it is a toss up as to which is better. The 99s seems to benefit from a shorter piston stroke and will run at a comfortable smooth 11FPE. It isn't as cut and dried as it seems and the 99s is bloody good value as a no nonsense sporter.
