Robby22
Hi all, Thinking of getting my BB superten "bumped" up on fac, just wondered how much id be looking at to get it converted as cant decide whether to go for that or 22lr? Cheers Robby22
Axe
What land are you shooting? If its safe enough for .22LR I would highly recommend it. Whilst it is the more expensive option, it will leave you with a rifle you can take anywhere. In addition you might also consider the loss in value of your S10 when you FAC it, as FAC airguns don't have as good a secondhand value as legal limit. THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Buy a ready made FAC S10 as non FAC S10's are worth more. You can get S10's on ticket without much modding but the best way is a proper cigar unit + other small bits. I went the DIY route & got all the bits but in the end just sold the rifle & bought a ready done FAC & had money left over, got spare FAC bits now just in case. peacey
Hardys Gunsmiths on Ecclesall Rd at Sheffield wanted £95 quid extra against the price of a standard. He buys them to sell as standard guns but does the proper mod for that price as long as he gets to keep the original bits so he can send them back for a swap or rebate. Nice chap and seemed clued up. I got my FAC Super10 second hand off here and it's fantastic, 30 ft/lb and packs a punch. I've got .22LR aswell but the Super10 gets all the action, .22LR can be a bit overkill. j.stuart
the s10 is a great fac rifle. often called the poor mans rapid. very accurate gun i have used a few poor mans rapid that has match grade trigger and regulator that a rapid mk1 didnt till a few years ago. id have my s10 over a rapid any day as rapid triggers are rubbish and the standard rapids pig ugly. rapids are over priced in my eyes, you can have state of the art daystate mk3-4 or custom built ripley for there asking . one rifle i have been looking at which i think would be good on fac is the new fx cutlas basicly a logun dominator or fx verminator. the new version is also regulated. buy a used fac super10 infact if you really wanted a rapid they come up cheap as fac too, country men of derby had a mk2 40ft for

TheHunter
The money it would cost to convert added to the depreciation in value because the weapon is now only of use to someone with an FAC, would buy you a good 22lr !! Mines a Carbine, does that make a difference to accuracy, when running FAC power?? Thanks for feedback
elcaro
Mines a Carbine, does that make a difference to accuracy, when running FAC power?? Thanks for feedback Not accuracy but power matey. I have had a full length FAC S10 for over ten years now and it has made my rimfire redundent. I use the S10 at 75-80 yards regularly after I bought a good rangefinder. I take many more shots where before with my Brno I would not have dared. The S10 does the job but I was shown the new R10 and told how it would perform in FAC form so now unfortunately the S10 is in the twilight of its long life
