Whitebridges
Poor old sloe crop again in mid Norfolk, so I thought I'd have a look north of the county for a few late ones on one of my permissions. Same again, not enough to justify picking. Ah well, have to make to with blackberry Vodka. What's the sloe crop like elsewhere? I put the auto in the motor with a couple of boxes of ammo and had half a dozen flighting the edge of a wood. I've just "done" them and they were stuffed with berries.....is there a message here? Country_est
Normal sloe patch here in Basingstoke is also bare. The Damson tree on my permission was heavly trimmed last year (after my harvest) and has not recovered enuf to be worth picking. So just as well I managed 2 lots of each last year and ahve a little bit left.

Scarpa
In North Wales there was also ****** all.. but then a mate told me about a load of blackthorn growing at approx 900ft above sea level. In 90 mins I picked half a carrier bag full. How have a demijohn full of sloe gin on the go... plus a sneaky bottle to be harvested early
