Newsportshooter
Where abouts are you? I had a good chat with my local firearms officer who was such a nice bloke he put me in contact with a local farm owner and I subsequently have permission there. You could try that as an in. There are also loads of threads on this site giving advice on how to gain permission. With regard to your FAC. I would assume that on your first licence you will be shown as limited to land that has been deemed suitable by the local chief officer of police (ie LAND CHECKED). This will mean that you will only be able to shoot on land that has been checked for suitability by the local police - and on which you have permission. Hope this helps. P.s I would apply for two slots 1 x .22LR and one x .17HMR most forces go with the request as they are such similar calibres in the sense of their use.... The FLO can always so no to one... but if you don't ask you don't get.... Good luck Mike
GJUK
I will mention I am new to this, so my post may not be 100% correct. 2. if i did get land to shoot on could i only shoot on that bit of land? Yes, you need permission from the land owner to shoot on that land with an FAC gun. 1. how can i find land to register one to, i am allowed to shoot my air rifle on a bit of land but dont think that it would pass for that? Drive about, knock on a few doors. Probably not, the land from my understanding needs to be rather large with enough 'fallout' for missed shots etc. You couldnt shoot on a football pitch for example, it would be too small for a start, although you might get rid of a few of those football pro's Welcome to the forum Jon

CharlieT
could try but we go lamping there so it is quite late but may try to ask the bloke i go shooting with but i just feel that it is a bit rude as i dont know him very well Even if you managed to get a fac remember that you would not be able to shoot on your mates permission without authority from the farmer so you have got to ask him anyway if you intend to shoot with your mate.
