That is a shame. Looks like he would have been a nice animal when he was alive. With a head like that do you think he died of old age?

I wouldn`t have thought so, his teeth were worn but the `keepers/stalkers who have seen it were estimating it at 4-5yrs old. Also he was found near a road so it could have been an accident or even someone having a "pot-shot" at him. :good:

Are you going to mount it HD ?

Not mine to mount

Probably clipped by a car then? That's unless someone did shoot it, do you get much of that happening in your area?

Luckily we don't get too much of that happening around here. The only thing that has bothered me recently is seeing two Roe Does hit on the road next to a farm that turned me down last year. The numbers are very high and I see them crossing often, so I wish I could have shot a couple to reduce the risk of accidents. The farmer said the numbers were fine, and I guess they are now :good:

Don't get the fact that a beast has a large head, to show that he's also old, there's too many other factors involed, you should use the size of a head to show that he's not a spiker/pricket, but other than that you shouldn't use it as a rule.
