SACS

Despite my leaving the organisation still has a great deal of merit, and its membership fees and insurance are still the best deal by far. As for Whinchester, he was not a SACS member at the time his guns were taken and wev'e been over those old coals allready,

Firstly I am new to this forum so any old coals you refer to, have not been raked over by me. Secondly why did SACS take up his case in the first place if Winchester was not a member? Thirdly why when I emailed Scrotums, ooops sorry meant SACS about junior membership fee's on three occasions, did I not get a reply?

Mark B, I would be amazed if you left SACS! It is always a shame when something like this goes on – no one ‘wins’ but lets hope the members do not suffer – the height of the shooting season is the worst possible time for this to all blow up and take up Ian’s time.

Maybe Ian will want to keep quiet about the detail, quite understandably, if there is a court case pending, but maybe it would be nice to know if there is or not just to stop all the speculation.

Tom, you have been very clear in your reasons for leaving, and I know how passionate you are about SCAS so for you to go public show how strongly you feel – we should all respect that.

Dogman,I am sure that Ian or Winchester will give you a summary of what happened with the appeal- if you ask them, it has had a good airing on this forum and the SACS forum, but one thread about this on the SACS forum – post appeal, has been deleted? Having said that, this thread is not the place to go over old ground – we should stick to the issue in hand.

Why do so many people not like SAC's and similar most of the BASC members hate SAC's?

I'm looking about at the moment for insurance but I dare not ask the question, at the risk of starting a fight on here.

Do us all a favour and ask your question by opening another topic.

That way this topic stands a chance of not being closed, and your new one may last 20 minutes or so, before one of the PW moderators cloes the topic.

However to summerise BASC are without the doubt the best for shooters, but also the most expensive.

You should get what you pay for, but may not do with some organisations, trouble is you only find out when its too late.

Join the BASC.

The sayings Buy cheap, buy twice & You get what you pay for - are ringing very clear now :good:

Thanks. I understand you 'get what you pay for'. But I'm trying to work out why so many people have such strong opinions on differing policy providers.

I think hate is perhaps too strong a word. People can be very passionate about their organization – just like they are about their football team for example.

But if you look at it, the numbers of people that say very harsh things about BASC are very few – check it out. Notably one or two of the harshest BASC critics and the greatest SACS supporters have not commented yet on this thread. :)

But if you look at the vast majority of the posts they may be blunt or direct, and / or expressing an honest opinion, but we should not confuse this with hatred.

All of the main shooting organizations (Not SACS or SGA by the way) work together via the British Shooting Sports Council, of course there is a bit of rivalry but to be honest if you put us all in the same room there would be a party not a fight! :good:

There never will be one cover all shooting organization, shooting and shooters are too diverse, perhaps though there are too many at the moment, and I suspect over the next decade there will be failures and mergers so maybe the market will rationalize- who knows.

I hope SACS will get through this- I hope so for their members’ sake I really do – no one wants to see a failure in shooting.

Let me kick off in response Webber your a diehard BASC man thats obvious from your posts on the pigeon watch forum re: the matter and your gloating about the situation on here and you could'nt wait to tell the lads and lassies on the Hunting Life! You could'nt even give me the courtesy of giving friends on there the news myself your a **** stirrer and your right! you neither know me or Ian Clark I have resigned and with a bit of luck that may change over the next few days and common sense will prevail , and changes and compromise will take place As for "SACS" its still the best membership/insurance deal. My beef is with Ian Clark and his style of management, others might and do agree with it? its not about the organisation I rather still people joined it!! than your mob BASC or the Countryside Alliance, The one personal trait I'm proud of is I'm honest and not afraid of the courage of my convictions, If Ian Clark deserves a ragging from me at the time? he deserves it, just as I would, if I make a balls of something. You are a **** stirrer and only trying to get some milage for BASC as for pinning Ians post here thats my forums copyright and I suggest you do something quickly about the matter!!! as for the whole issue its on the sacs forum for all to see

Legally you can't request that content from a public forum (yours) should be removed from another forum (here). Perhaps the poster can, this Ian chap, but not you.

Regards,

Jon
