Nial
Interesting, they've made good use of the bit round the post for a hide. Their rotary is interesting too, it looks like it's just the wind catching the birds that's spinning it rather than having it powered. Do many in the UK use this sort of set up? I'd have thought it would be good on a windy day. Nial.

lancashireunter
That decoy pattern and the two rotaries wouldnt work for the decoy shy pigeons I shoot or I would of thought elsewhere in the UK. It worked for them I would guess because the pigeons are half tame ferals. Why let them land and then flush them before shooting? I agree the rotary may be useful on a windy day, lighter than carryin a battery.

Highlander
That's Denmark I believe and I don't think electronic decoys are legal there so it's handy having a wind powered one. Must find out where I can get some as it wouldn't half save on batteries and carrying the damn things! The birds look like ferals rather than Woodies. Using 2 (or even 3) machines can (like all things pigeon) work some of the time. It certainly worked that day. Nice film.

When Henry_d took me out at one point he had turned the magnet off but it was pretty windy and it was pushing the birds round reasonably well. I presume that a light bearing would be easier to turn than the motor in a magnet so this might work pretty well on windy days. I suppose worst case they'll look like a couple of floaters/bouncers.
